!!!CUPNOODLES MUSEUM...

!!!CUPNOODLES MUSEUM...: Day 716: Part Two

"Boom! You're looking the wrong way. It's behind you!"

So we decided to ditch Noodle World and head down the street to the new Cupnoodles Museum in Yokohama.

Opened only last month, the new Cupnoodles Museum was built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of cup noodles. And it's fricken huge!

Similar to the Instant Ramen Museum in Osaka, the walls are lined with all the different Nissin products dating back to the first Chikin Ramen.

Recognize any?

I'm sure you do.

Wait. Kalbi? Bacon? Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!

Time for the red room!

I took video of this film, but I'm afraid to post it publicly.

It basically told the history of Momofuku Ando and how he never gave up despite failing several times.

And it reminded us that it's never too late to follow your dreams. Momofuku Ando invented Chikin Ramen at age 48, Cup Noodles at age 61, and Space Noodles at age 95.

A true instant G.

Very inspirational!

The rest of the museum just reiterated the video in more detail.

And there was some cool cup noodle art.

This map/graph depicts how much cup noodles is consumed around the world. Dang! China is king!

Word. Hey that guy looks familiar!

Me and the man.

Remember when I made my own cup ramen in Osaka? Well, you can do the same thing here, but all the tickets were sold out by the time we arrived.

The school was sold out too.

So we could only watch...

And enjoy the view of Yokohama Bay.

Cup Noodles Store!

Okay, all this ramen viewing was making us crave more ramen. So on our way home we stopped at Miharu (らーめん 瞠恵比寿店) in Ebisu.

Hmm...it tasted a bit like Watanabe.

And what do you know, they have a history.

Good stuff, but there is an aftertaste that tends to linger.

The Bassanova Sunset.

Check out this view. Can you see Tokyo Tower?

Anyway, I met the assistant in Ginza for dinner.

I'm gonna miss nights like these. In fact, I already do.

Crepe!!

Hmm...maybe someday there will be a !!!GO RAMEN MUSEUM. I'm allowed to dream, right?

New car, new job and now New Home

Wow I still can't believe I bought my very first home this Sunday. The past week has been one of the most intense weeks in my life. Made an offer to buy my very first home, got an counter offer, made a second offer and received another counter offer.... Finally I singed the contract to buy my first home on Sunday. I still can't believer I am going to be a home owner despite the fact I will be eating bread and drinking water for the next 30 year. I know it is the right move and I can't wait to actually care what color of my walls are and if my hard wood floor is scratched because they are MINE.

I think I need to thank my friend/coworker Justin for introducing me to Lydia Huwang. She is like the best real estate agent anyone could ask for. I don't think my first time home buying experience could have been this wonderful if it wasn't for her. I am very grateful.

Now that I have a mortgage now, I just got to make sure I work extra harder so I will keep my job so I can enjoy my new place.

Hi, I am a Mac!

This is my new job's desk. I got a MacBook Pro and a huge wide screen monitor that I got to play games with my coworkers. Awesome. I love the MacBook, I can basically sit everywhere in the office now. I thought it would difficult to use Mac, but I had no idea how easy it was to learn and I find out some cool feathers that PC doesn't even have. Now I think I might be switching to Mac now. Also, my new work got me a BOSE headphone, which is amazing. I had no idea that BOSE headphones cost so much.

So thank you!! I will do my best and work as hard as I can....

Excited and ... a little bit sad

My new company invited to go to their Christmas Party tonight. I got to meet my new coworkers and I can't believe the warm welcome I've received from everyone. They are awesome, they are like a family and already open theirs arms to welcome me. I ... can't wait to work with them on Jan 2nd. In the mean time, I am also very sad that I am leaving my current coworkers. We have been through a lot together. They are the reason I love my job so much. Gerrit, Ryan, Brian, Justin..., I really hope everything for them is as lucky as what have happened to me, and I hope I can work with them again, they are not only my coworkers, they are my friends. I am so lucky (I don't even know what to say). I will cherish every moment of this new year and I will do everything I can to make sure Santiago doesn't regret he offered me a job twice in a row.
Thank you Pat, and Thank you Santiago.
Happy Holidays!

Borderline....

I finally get to go see Madonna's concert for the very first time. That was me rocking out at Petco Park. I love that she did a rock version of Borderline. Also it was the night we have the very first black president. Very exciting!!
